FIX: EA FC 26 FPS Drops After Halftime / Cutscenes (PC)
✅ [FIX] EA FC 25/26 Massive FPS Drops After Halftime / Cutscenes (PC) — REAL SOLUTION
If your EA FC 25/26 suddenly drops from smooth FPS to 5–10 FPS after halftime, substitutions, replays or any cutscene…
it’s not your PC. It’s a game bug.
The in-game FPS limiter and V-Sync are broken.
The solution is to force your FPS from the GPU driver instead of the game.
I had the same issue, tested this fix, and my FPS is now stable again.
🟩 NVIDIA Users (GeForce) — REAL FIX
Right-click desktop → NVIDIA Control Panel
Go to Manage 3D Settings → Program Settings
Add EA SPORTS FC 26 (browse to FC26.exe if needed)
Find Max Frame Rate
Turn it ON and set it to:
👉 60 FPS (recommended)
or
👉 144 FPS if you have a 144 Hz monitor (works for me now)
Click Apply
Then INSIDE the game:
V-Sync → OFF
FPS Limit → OFF
➡️ Your GPU now controls FPS, not the broken in-game limiter.
🟥 AMD Users (Radeon)
Open AMD Adrenalin
Go to Gaming → EA SPORTS FC 26
Under Graphics, enable Frame Rate Target Control (FRTC)
Set it to 60 FPS
Set Wait for Vertical Refresh (VSync) to Always off
Disable Radeon Chill
Save / Apply
🎯 My Personal Result
I have an RTX 3050 laptop, 144 Hz screen.
Before the fix:
60 FPS first half
Drops to 5–10 FPS after halftime, subs, cutscenes
Ultra settings = 6 FPS (literally unplayable)
After the fix:
80–90 FPS on Auto settings
Smooth gameplay
Zero drops after halftime
Issue 100% gone
🧠 Why This Works
EA FC 25/26 has a bug where:
The in-game FPS lock
The in-game V-Sync
🔥 break after cutscenes or halftime.
Your GPU suddenly tries to render unlimited FPS → overload → FPS collapse.
Driver-level FPS control avoids this entirely.
❤️ Hope this helps!
Everyone suffering from this bug deserves the fix — I struggled with it too.
Try this and your FPS should be stable again.
