Campaign Medals (Savegame & Achievement Guide)

If you load a savegame shortly before the end of a mission, the game will count it as a successful completion and award the medal.

I went through my old savegame folders and finally pulled myself together to make this guide. I’ve had the idea ever since the Definitive Edition came out, but never quite got my ass in gear until now 😅

For many missions, there are even special achievement saves included.

The most reliable way is to go mission by mission in order:

1. Copy the save files into your savegame folder (C:\Users\[YourName]\Games\Age of Empires 2 DE\[UserID]\savegame)
   
2. Start the first mission of the campaign normally
   
3. Load the corresponding savegame and wait a few seconds to let the mission finish itself
   
4. Start the next mission of the campaign and repeat
   
5. Repeat until all missions are marked as completed

⚠️ Note: I haven’t tested what happens if you skip around and load missions out of order. A few years ago, I tried using someone else’s savegames and it worked fine. All the saves in the Drive folder are my own.
