Controller Friendly Boot Up
Trying to boot Diablo 2 with a controller is not so user friendly. You can't skip the startup videos with controller inputs and it requires a keyboard input to get past the title screen. By default the character selection and lobby choices aren't great for controllers either.
However none of this is a problem if you launch the game on a Steam Deck, controller inputs work for skipping the intro stuff and there a slightly different UI for the lobby stuff.

Setup
Basically you can make your game think it's running on a Steam Deck with some launch options.
Hopefully this helps some other filthy casual D2 player. Happy looting!
- Open Steam and find Diablo 2 in your library.
- Right Click it and select "Properties"
- There is a field called "Launch Options" in that field enter this:
cmd /c "set steamdeck=1 && %command%" - Close the window (it'll save automatically)
