Frequently Asked Questions
How many maps are there?
Three main land maps (Honolulu, Rich Island, and Madlantis) plus the open-water sailing zones that connect them. Honolulu is the largest explorable city area covering districts from Little Japan and Waikiki to Downtown, Chinatown, and the Cultural District, while Madlantis is a pirate settlement built on wrecked ships that unlocks progressively through the story, and Rich Island is Majima's home base with the Goro Kingdom animal sanctuary and cooking facilities.

How many Substories are in the game?
There are 31 total, all taking place in Hawaii, with the first becoming available in Chapter 2. Many of them unlock minigames like Dragon Kart, Crazy Delivery, Ounabara Vocational School, and Sicko Snap, and the Minato Girls romance chain has five individual substories that feed into a final sixth one back at the Revolve bar.

What is the Photo Rally and how many spots are there?
There are 100 Photo Rally locations spread across Honolulu, Rich Island, and Madlantis that you photograph using visual hints. It unlocks through a story-related substory in Chapter 2, and completing each area's set rewards a unique cosmetic item you can't get anywhere else.

How do Treasures work?
There are 65 Treasures total, obtained from island treasure hunts while sailing, from chests in Honolulu, Rich Island, and Madlantis (most requiring the Chain Hook), or purchased from minigame point exchanges. You only need 40 for the Expert Treasure Hunter trophy, but grabbing extras early is one of the fastest ways to earn money and reputation for ship upgrades.

How many Crew Members can I recruit?
There are 107 total, found through scouting in Honolulu and Madlantis, completing Substories, buying from minigame exchanges, and maxing out animal affection in the Goro Kingdom on Rich Island. Crew Members come in bronze, silver, and gold rarity and are assigned to ship positions and boarding squads with different battle types like Assault, Guardian, Healer, and Gunner.

What is Madlantis?
Madlantis is a hidden pirate community built on shipwrecks off the coast of Hawaii, run by Queen Michele and the Pirate King Raymond Law. It houses the Pirates' Coliseum (the main naval battle arena with 30+ matches), the Bang Bang Batting Center, a golf course, a casino, Dunghill bar, Gorgeous Roger's boutique, and various shops, and it unlocks progressively as you advance the main story.

What are the Devil Flags?
The Devil Flags are a rival pirate faction whose officers you fight across different sailing zones, and defeating each one opens up new ocean areas to explore. New sailing regions won't appear until you progress through the Devil Flags side story, so if you notice locked water areas on the map, that's why.

Can I go back and clean up everything after the story?
Yes, Premium Adventure unlocks after beating the main story and gives you full access to all maps, sailing zones, and side content. Nothing is missable, so you can finish remaining Substories, recruit the last crew members, complete all Pirates' Coliseum matches, and hunt down every treasure at your own pace.
