Climbing tricks
First up, the basic clamber. Move slowly towards the object you wish to climb and then raise one leg. Slowly maneuver the leg so that the foot is directly above some kind of foothold, then lower it. Rinse and repeat. Octodad's feet should stick to any climbable objects, allowing one to climb much easier. Be sure to take this slow, you should get used to it after a while.

Next, the 'Air gallop'. This is used when you must move over a gap too large for you to walk across. Getting some ties may require this, so read carefully. First, raise your leg and violently move your leg towards the object you want to climb. Then, as your leg begins to lose momentum as you move it, switch to your other leg and violently move it as well, launching you into the air. Then, do this a third time if necessary. A fourth shouldn't be needed. Turning up your mouse sensitivity may help you with this if you're having trouble. Practise, practise, practise for this.
Places to climb
These are good places for practise or challenges for experts. Or places to climb if you've completed the game and have run out of things to do.

1. The shed
Location: Home Sweet Home
To do this one, do a air gallop from the slide. Simple, but a good practise spot for the air gallop.

2. The aquarium
Location: World of Kelp

Do a air gallop from the fans. This is a much more difficult air gallop to execute.

3. The freezers
Location: Gervason's Grocery

Get onto the commander video rentals machine (hurhur, bit trip reference) and slowly sidestep across the top of the freezers. I've never managed to stay up here for more than a few seconds. Look at the screenshot above and see if you can get further than I could :)

4. The Deathtrap
Location: Amazon Arcade

Jumping into a piranha tank seems like the next logical step. Climb onto the rocks nearby and do a air gallop into the tank. This is possible without glitches.

5. The ship
Location: Sea Legs

How is this possible? Heck, I barely know how I got up here. However, I couldn't get a better screenshot, as the camera glitches quite a bit up here. You're just gonna have to take my word that I got up here.

6. The Chef's spot
Location: Sea Legs

To get up here, go to the area directly outside the control room and stand on the railing there. Sidestep to the crates and air gallop around. This isn't easy, and be careful not to fall into the water.

7. The Ticket Stand
Location: Aquatic Fun Center

This isn't simple. The easiest way by far is to smash a nearby garbage can and use the bottom section to clamber up, but you can get up without, I believe. Sadly there is an invisible wall up there, so you can't cruelly abandon your family.

8. The Roof
Location: Home Sweet Home

Use the barbecue or the picnic table as a stepping stone up here. The most interesting part of this area is that it's fully rendered with full physics and a few background objects not actually visible normally like cars and bystanders walking around. Get up here and you will also see the oddly low draw distance present in this level.

9. The slide
Location: World of Kelp

While this isn't a typical place to climb, you can hillariously climb up here via the magic of antigravity. Just go to the bottom of the slide and make sure both your feet are on the slide. Raise one of your legs and move it over as far up the slide as possible. Don't let go of your foot, keep pushing upwards. Do it right and you will ascend rapidly up the slide, because screw physics.

10. The invisible wall
Location: Home Sweet Home

This is a really odd place to climb. Get up onto the roof then go to the leftward corner. Shove your leg into the corner and it should stick, allowing you to raise your other foot and slam it into the wall too. Keep doing this as much as humanly possible.

11. The Minus World
Location: Home Sweet Home

Welcome to hell, ladies and gents. I would ask you to purchase the merchandise, but very little exists here. Just climb the invisible wall mentioned earlier and you will eventually pass through it, allowing you to explore the realm of nonexistence simply known as The Minus World.

I'm going to add more later as this guide develops. Feel free to suggest more climbing spots or techniques in the comments below, and I should add them to the guide, assuming I'm not brutally murdered in the next few days. I'm also going to try climbing them myself for screenshots, so feel free to submit these as challenges as well to torture me and others any way you see fit.
