Summary
There are 75 Files in Resident Evil: Requiem, split across Wrenwood, Rhodes Hill, Raccoon City, and ARK. They matter for puzzle hints, story context, and the Case Closed trophy or achievement. The safest way to collect them is to follow the route area by area, because the Files menu helps you track what you have, but its order does not always match the order you actually find things in the campaign. Also, there is no chapter select, so manual saves before each major area still matter a lot if you want a clean collectible run.
What are Files?
Files are Resident Evil: Requiem’s document collectibles. Some give you puzzle clues, safe codes, or progression hints. Others fill in the game’s research trail, incident reports, lab history, and character context. They are tracked in the Files tab next to your inventory, and reading all of them in the main story unlocks Case Closed.
All 75 Files in Resident Evil: Requiem
I grouped these by the route you actually move through Resident Evil: Requiem, not just by the in game file index. That makes cleanup easier, especially in Care Center, the R.P.D. section, and the ARK finale where a few pickups are much easier to miss than they look at first glance.

5. Alyssa’s Journal: Required for story progression. After the flashback cutscene, head back to the lobby and grab the file behind the painting

Frequently Asked Questions
How many Files are in Resident Evil: Requiem?
There are 75 Files in the main story. The in game menu groups them into four main buckets: Wrenwood, Rhodes Hill, Raccoon City, and ARK.

Are any Files missable?
Yes. In practice, all Files are missable because Resident Evil: Requiem does not have chapter select. Manual saves before each major area are the safest way to protect a collectible run.

Do Files unlock anything?
Yes. Reading all Files unlocks the Case Closed trophy or achievement. Some Files also help with puzzle solving and safe code routes, so they are not just lore pickups.

How do I track the Files I missed?
Open the Files tab next to your inventory. The game records entries by name, which makes cleanup much easier once you know what is missing. Just remember that the menu order is not always the same as the order you naturally collect them in the story.

What are the easiest Files to miss?
The two that catch people most often are Photograph in the R.P.D. Library, because it only spawns after reading the four S.T.A.R.S. Office files, and Access Log: First Assembly Minutes in ARK Archives, because you want it before using the big console that ends the area. Guide Pamphlet after the Orphanage return is another one people run past because the cutscene pushes your attention forward.

Can I get all 75 Files in one playthrough?
Yes, absolutely. A single run is enough if you stay alert in Care Center, do the full S.T.A.R.S. Office check before leaving R.P.D., and do not skip the monitor reads in ARK.

Are Files only for lore?
No. They do give a lot of Resident Evil: Requiem’s background detail, especially around Rhodes Hill research, the Raccoon City fallout, and ARK’s bioweapon work, but some also point you toward safe codes, puzzle patterns, and route logic.
